Taylor's papers consist of biographical information; administrative papers regarding plans to incorporate the Frick Collection into the Museum collections, 1967; information about the Frick Laboratory and its personnel; memos of the Museum, the department and departmental meetings; and information about several trips. Correspondence with colleagues S. David Webb, Michael O. Woodburne, Robert Emry, Bruce Lander, C. Bertrand Schultz, and Thomas A. Patton, 1942-1980. Correspondence concerned with loan of specimens, Taylor's research topics, publications, letters from the public, and related curatorial duties. Of special interest are Taylor's notes on stratigraphy of North America compiled by Sydney E. Helprin, 1948-1956; and location and stratigraphic data, especially geologic charts by Morris F. Skinner, and notes and faunal lists regarding deer and horse fossils. Manuscripts, notes, and publications about evolution of the deer, Camelidae, Stenomylinae, and Protocertinae. In addition, faunal and stratigraphic lists from the United States, Europe, and Central Asia; reprints on stratigraphy in the American West; catalogs and lists of collections and loans of several institutions; and faunal lists.
